CHOOSING THE RIGHT LOCATION FOR YOUR HOME AQUARIUM

Happy Halloween and Welcome to our online community blog!

Choosing the right Location:
Your choice of aquarium may be restricted to where you can place the tank in your home, so plan your budget around this.

You'll want to place your aquarium where you can get the most enjoyment of it. It's nice to sit down, relax, and watch your fish in their habitat.

You also need to choose a location that is sturdy and level. The floor structure must support the weight of a full aquarium.  A rule of thumb is 10 pounds per gallon of water, so a 55 gallon tank will weigh 550 pounds when filled with water!

You will need a location that does not block a walk way and won't be at risk for being bumped or even tipped over depending on the type of aquarium.

Keep away from doors and windows or ventilation ducts which can produce harmful temperature fluctuations. Windows allow sunlight into the aquarium which can lead to dangerous algae build-up.

Choose your location wisely, and it will enhance the enjoyment you will get from your aquarium.

In the next blog, we'll talk about Purchasing Equipment

Thank you for your time.
